阿Joe有環保意識
Joe、Andy和森川正在箱根其中一座山上的公園裡野餐。
Andy: 我眞的喜歡日本花園那種景觀設計，所有設置都井井有條，這裡眞美麗！
Joe: 是呀，除了掛在那小樹上的塑膠袋外！
森川: 呀，我把它拿下來放進垃圾箱吧。
Joe: 森川眞是個好人。我眞的覺得我們應減少用塑膠袋。你知道嗎，每當我們棄置一個塑膠袋，便會製造出一件千年後都仍然存在的廢物，因為塑膠需要無限長的時間分解。現在當我到商店買一兩件東西，我都會叫他們：“不用這個袋了”。
Andy: 啊，不單止這樣。每當我們用一個塑膠袋，都會導致石油的需求量上升，因為塑膠是由石油製造的，也意味着推升油價。
Joe: 那麼我們可以用紙袋取代，紙可以循環再用。
Andy: Joe，你明白嗎，製造那些一次性的紙袋或杯需要砍伐很多樹木，把它們磨成碎粒，再化成紙漿及以氯化物漂白。整個過程耗用很多能量及產生很多有害的副產品，所以用紙袋也不是環保的。
Joe: 那麼我們應怎樣做？我們的確需要一些東西來盛載購買的物品！
Andy: 我們可以自備購物袋。
Joe: 不過這樣並不方便！
Andy: 但如果我們不能作少許改變來解決這些問題，我們的環境眞是很危險了！

Joe, Andy and Hiroshi are having a picnic in a garden on one of the Hakone mountains.
Andy: I really like the landscape design of Japanese gardens. Everything is so neatly arranged. It so beautiful here!
Joe: Yeah, except that plastic bag hanging on the little tree there!
Hiroshi: Oh, I'll go remove it and put it in the garbage bin.
Joe: Hiroshi is such a nice guy. I really think we should use less plastic bags. You know, every time we throw away a plastic bag, we are creating waste that will still be around 1,000 years later because it takes forever to decompose. Now when I go to the store to buy a thing or two, I'll just tell them: “keep the bag.”
Andy: Oh, that's not it. Every time we use a plastic bag, we drive up the oil demand too because oil is used to make plastics, which means the oil price will go up.
Joe: We can use paper bags instead then. Paper can be recycled.
Andy: You see here, Joe. To make those one-time-use paper bags or cups, we need to cut down a lot of trees, grind them to chips, and pulp and bleach them with chlorine-based compounds. The whole process takes a lot of energy and generates loads of harmful byproducts. So, using paper bags is not environmental friendly neither.
Joe: So, what should we do then? We do need something to carry the stuff we buy!
Andy: We can bring our own shopping bags.
Joe: It's not very convenient though!
Andy: But if we can't make a little change to solve these problems, our environment is really in trouble!
